Claudell Washington had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Atlanta Braves defeated the Houston Astros 9 to 3 at Colt Stadium. 

Atlanta took the lead for keeps in the top of the 3rd inning scoring 3 runners on 3 hits. The big moment was provided by Terry Harper who silenced the stadium when he lost the ball over the fence for three runs. Overall Atlanta out-hit Houston 14 to 11. 

Pascual Perez(2-5) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 innings and allowing 3 runs. Mike Scott(8-18) was hit with the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 9 hits and 4 walks in 5 innings.
