October 1, 1985: Blue Jays (99-58) at Tigers (93-64)

The Toronto Blue Jays came roaring back in the top of the ninth to clinch the division and spoil the anticipated celebration of the hometown fans. The final score,, was 2 to 1. 

Toronto came through with the game-winning runs in the top of the 9th inning scoring 2 runs utilizing 3 base hits. George Bell led off and started the attack as he lined a single. Cliff Johnson next to the plate and he doubled. After an out was recorded, Ernie Whitt then drew a walk to load the bases. One out later, Tony Fernandez stepped in and he doubled driving home two runs. 

Jimmy Key(22-9) got help from Tom Henke who pitched great and earned his 37th save. Jack Morris(19-10) took the loss. He pitched 8 and 2/3 innings giving up 7 hits and 4 walks.
