Ozzie Virgil smashed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI at OLYMPIC STADIUM as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Montreal Expos 6 to 3. 

Virgil led the offense for Philadelphia. He cleared the fences for a two-run home run in the 2nd inning, lined a one-base hit resulting in a run in the 3rd inning and smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the 6th inning. Philadelphia had a total of 9 hits for the game. 

Steve Carlton(15-10) went 7 innings allowing 3 runs for the win. Kent Tekulve got the save, his 30th. Dan Schatzeder(11-6) was hit with the loss. Philadelphia scored big getting 6 runs off him in 5 and 1/3 innings.
