October 3, 1985: Pirates (70-89) at Cubs (81-79)

Ron Cey had 2 base hits and 3 RBI at WRIGLEY FIELD where the Chicago Cubs beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 10 to 3. 

Pittsburgh found themselves trailing quickly as the Chicago bats came through in the first inning plating 2 runs on 4 base hits. Bob Dernier led off and keyed the rally when he ripped a single. One out later, Billy Hatcher struck out, unable to help the rally. Keith Moreland then doubled resulting in a run. Cey followed next and he stroked a base-hit scoring the final run of the inning. Chicago had 14 hits for the afternoon while Pittsburgh had 8. 

Steve Trout(14-16) went 7 innings allowing 1 run for the victory. Rick Rhoden(11-17) was the loser. He got hit hard, allowing 11 hits and 2 walks in 3 and 1/3 innings.
