September 29, 1985: Red Sox (88-68) at Tigers (93-63)

Second baseman Lou Whitaker launched 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Todd Crane had an impressive outing as the phenomenal Detroit Tigers destroyed the Boston Red Sox by a score of 12 to 1 at TIGER STADIUM. 

Whitaker helped send the fans home happy. He cracked a solo homerun in the 1st inning and lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in the 2nd inning. Detroit out-hit Boston for the game, 15 hits to 6. 

The winning pitcher was Crane(17-9) who allowed 1 run in 8 innings. Al Nipper(10-15) was the loser. He surrendered 6 runs and 6 hits in 1 inning.
