September 30, 1985: Braves (47-109) at Astros (77-79)

Second baseman Bill Doran had 3 base hits and Nolan Ryan whitewashed Atlanta as the Houston Astros beat the Atlanta Braves by a score of 7 to 0.

Ryan(17-16) was indeed brilliant as he hand-cuffed the Atlanta offense. He didn't allow much, just 4 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings. Houston rapped out 11 hits for the night.

Zane Smith(7-13) was the losing pitcher. He allowed 6 runs and 6 hits in 6 innings.
