September 30, 1985: White Sox (79-77) at Twins (68-89)

Third baseman Gary Gaetti jacked one out of the ballpark and had 5 RBI as the Minnesota Twins topped the Chicago White Sox by a score of 7 to 4 at METRODOME. 

Gaetti enjoyed a fine evening at the plate. He lined a one-base hit in the 4th inning, lofted a three-run bomb in the 6th inning and doubled scoring two baserunners in the 8th inning. Minnesota totaled 8 hits on the night. 

Bert Blyleven(19-12) allowed 4 runs in 8 innings, and picked up the victory. Blyleven was helped out by Ron Davis who recorded his 18th save. Dan Spillner(7-6) suffered the loss in relief. He allowed 2 hits and 2 walks in 1 and 1/3 innings.  With the loss the Royals have clinched the division.
