October 4, 1985: Tigers (95-65) at Orioles (79-81)

Darrell Evans smashed 2 homeruns and scored 3 times at MEMORIAL STADIUM as the Detroit Tigers beat the Baltimore Orioles by the count of 7 to 5.

Evans enjoyed a fine evening at the plate. He smashed a bases-empty  homer in the 2nd inning, doubled in the 6th inning and hit a bases-empty home run in the 8th inning. Baltimore made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.

Frank Tanana(15-11) got the win allowing 3 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings. Tanana got relief help from Willie Hernandez who gained credit for his 37th save. Dennis Martinez(14-10) ended up with the loss. He served up 4 gopher balls in 6 and 1/3 innings.
